At least one still from the films discussed appears in the section. Napier, contains a chapter that describes and critiques a problematic genre of sexually explicit anime where women are often victims of horrific sexual violence. The textbook, Anime from Akira to Howl’s Moving Castle: Experiencing Contemporary Japanese Animation by Susan J. As the story continues, many characters are introduced which are all intertwined with this secret. She can't resist opening the letter, and a huge secret is revealed. THE HUSBAND'S SECRET poses the question: What would I do if I were in this situation? The story centers on Celia finding a letter written by her husband with instructions to open it in the event of his death. Her writing is superb, and her character development is exceptional, which makes her one of my go-to authors when I'm looking for a good read. Once I pick up one of her books, I have a hard time putting it down.
